Waiting for Baby Holt

Today marks week number one. Most people are on the count down to a new baby being born, we are on the count up. So, days to expecting baby are -7 days. Mommy Holt must have a bubbly little hot-tub inside there, because little baby sure likes it in there. Yesterday after trying a few of the new particles of advice we've received he was joyfully doing jumping jacks in Mommy's belly all through our church meetings. I think those sitting next to us were offended by our giggling, either that or they thought we were Gremlin-Offspring-Producing freaks - just realized that the acronym for this type of person is GOP, I'll leave it at that.

Here's a list of the advice we've received this week to encourage Baby Holt to join the rest of us outside-of-the-belly dwellers.
1- Jumping Jacks
2- Castor Oil (or Cod Liver Oil)
3- Intercourse
4- Blue Cohosh
5- Fresh Pineapple (in Utah in March)
6- Black Cohosh
7- "Relations" with your partner
8- Jump on the trampoline
9- A long, vigorous walk
10- Why haven't you induced yet?
11- Sex
12- Evening Primrose Oil
13- Eat Spicy Foods
14- Foot Massage or Pedicure
15- Sex

All in all, it is amazing how many exciting ideas everyone has for you about how to manage your life when you are expecting a baby. I got near the point of asking a few of our dear friends how their intimate life was going. My turn to offer a piece of advice, wait for the call.

We did start feeling really popular this week. The phone has been ringing off the hook. Everyone is either testing out their skills with Utah's new 10 digit dialing, or they keep forgetting that we told them we'd call them when the baby comes. Maybe they just don't trust us, or that pregnant lady brain everyone keeps telling us about really just pops up in everyone you know. Lucky we're nice people, either that or REALLY BIG SUCKERS, and we answer the phone every time it rings.

We really do appreciate all of the advice and attention we've been getting. But, we like all of you are ready for this kid to be out. The extra attention seems to be getting to be a little daunting. I kind of feel like Bill and Ted must have as they tried to play their street hockey game. "Game on" little Baby Holt. We're ready for you.

  1. I was wondering what as going on. What was the exact due date? I mean, how far over is he?
Well that's what people like to do, give advice. You either get used to it, or go mental. Cause it won't stop after the babies born. This is just the beginning baby.
    FYI I go mental

  2. Jeremy,

It wasn't Bill and Ted who played hockey in the street. It was Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World.

    I'm disappointed in you.
