Night Cap... Week One

We're just sitting back, getting ready to put Ivin down for a short March evening nap. Hoping for a few hours of rest. Here are some things we've learned from Week #1.

  1. Choose a blanket that keeps the baby warm and is large enough that Baby Long Legs can't kick out of it.
  2. Sleep time for baby is important, or else baby get's revenge.
  3. Eating time for baby is important, or else baby get's revenge.
  4. Poop really can ricochet out of a poop catching device.
  5. Burping is a good thing for babies. Otherwise, gassy stomachs are a bad thing.
  6. One boy can go through 8 outfits in 24 hours, filling a load of laundry. This is a problem when one boy only has 8 outfits.
  7. No matter the size of the changing pad to protect carpet, baby is still capable of overshooting the pad.
  8. I'm glad I was circumcised before I could remember being circumcised. A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down.
  9. After a few sleepless night, a four hour night of sleep is an amazing thing.
  10. After 32 hours of hard labor, and no sleep a greasy little baby is an adorable thing - and we love him.
  11. Somehow, after staying up all night with a crying baby, puke in your face and his, poop on your hands and his, pee all over the room and you and him, you can't put down the little guy.
  12. Little grunts and groans make it so you don't want to ever go back to work.
  13. Burping a little boy and having him throw up all over you is a beautiful thing.
  14. Baby's have no idea that they were just bathed and put into a new outfit - they still poop, pee and throw up all over the place.
  15. This little guy own our hearts. We love him.
We're looking forward to Week #2, except the go back to work thing.

Way to go Kelly on giving birth to Ivan and way to go Jeremy for giving the 1st bath. I was scared to death when I gave Luke his but didn't need to be.
