Taking Care of Baby

One of my good friends is in town from Tennessee. She stopped by with her baby Kate (who is not much of a baby anymore) to visit for a bit and to meet Ivin. I was just putting Ivin down for a nap when they arrived, so we all went to say hello to him in his crib. Kate was at just the right level to look through the bars of the crib at the getting-ready-to-nap Ivin. We then left the room and played and ate popsicles and popcorn. When Ivin started to cry as he woke up from his nap, Kate acted quite concerned and immediately went and stood outside his door. I decided to give the little lad a few minutes to see if he'd settle down. Kate decided to take matters into her own hands and went into his room, shortly after which we heard Ivin's crying stop. I entered the room to find this. . .
The cute little thing had tossed every available stuffed animal into the crib to try and quiet the fussing baby. No wonder Ivin stopped crying so abruptly - out of nowhere he gets pelted with a bunch of flying furry creatures. When we entered the room he still had a bit of a shocked look on his face. After she'd thrown in every 'comfort measure' she could find, baby Kate sat down and started rocking in the little rocking chair in Ivin's room. She then told us to leave so that she could sing to the baby. My attempts to stifle my laughter were quite feeble, as you can imagine. Needless to say, we spent the rest of a very entertaining afternoon together.

  2. So cute! Austin used to do that to Kyle but it wasn't to quiet him down. He through all the toys in on Kyle whether they were soft or hard.

  4. Oh I love it. Thanks for letting us hang out, and feeding Kate (and me) popcorn on demand. You and your baby are exceedingly cute.

    P.S. I'm having another girl!
