Most of you are either wondering why we haven't posted for a while, or why we haven't posted about our trip. So, for those of you wondering why we haven't posted for a while it was because we were on a trip, and didn't want to announce to the world that our house was vacant and ready for the thieving. And, for those of you that are wondering why we haven't posted - get over it, we've been out of the country for three weeks and need some time to get back to our Sunday night post.
There you have it.
So, on to the posting.
We spent the past few weeks in the UK and Ireland. It was quite a nice trip. Jeremy went for a few weeks to start it off with a school trip, part of his MBA. Then, Kelly and Ivin came over for a few weeks of leisure. Ivin has now officially participated in nearly every type of travel we can think of other than horse and buggy - but we saw those (the queen's royal horses and chariot/buggys). We flew on a few planes, rode on a few trains, rode on a boat/ferry across the sea. We also hopped on quite a few busses, subways and taxies not to mention the crazy roads we drove around on the opposite side of the car. Ivin is bound to be a world adventurer.
Highlights of the trip include meeting Kate (Sister Register). Kate had no idea that Kelly and Ivin were coming over. So, we'll just say that the meeting was quite the surprise. You will notice that Jeremy, the videographer, is quite a bit unstable. Part of this is because he is laughing quite a bit, the other is because he is quite a shaky guy. Get over it and enjoy the show. We met Kate at a train station, so you'll see Kate and her two comps come out from behind the pillar that Kelly is hiding behind, then Kelly walk out and call to her. Turn up your volume to hear the dialouge. It was quite funny, they didn't even hug each other because they were both in shock.
Other cool stuff was all the history in London. It was quite cool to see all the stuff, but we tried to cram a lot in to a little time and it wasn't really our laid back style of vacationing so we didn't enjoy it as much as we could have - but we saw a lot of cool stuff.
Ireland was our favorite. We had time in Ireland, with no real idea of what we would see. So, after a night or two in Dublin, we rented a car and were off for a road trip around the country. It was a good thing we got the GPS system, because we would still be in Ireland lost if we didn't have it. We enjoyed driving in the general direction we needed to go, then used the GPS to get us there, back on the right roads. We ran across some cows and lots of sheep. The cows were our favorite. They were laying there just watching the time go by when we pulled up to talk to them. We took a few pictures and they stood up, then started walking over to talk to us. Enjoy the show!
Attractions in Ireland after the sheep and cows, were the Cliffs of Moher, the Giant's Causeway and Bunratty Castle. Google them, or maybe we'll post some pics later. I'm tired. It was a great trip. Ivin is a trooper and so is Kelly. I love that I married a woman that is crazy enough to travel across the world with a 2 month old baby. I love her more every day, the more I learn about her. Good night. I guess because we didn't post for a month we owe you a slide show. We'll work on that the next few days.
Love the post! It was so fun to see Katie.
ReplyDeleteWow! You guys are adventurous, good for you. Traveling with little ones is always crazy but fun. Does a baby have to have a passport?, weird. Anwyho, aren't the cliffs of Moher amazing! Did you kiss the Blarney stone? London is a great city, it's almost like a movie or something! Hope you had a great time! Welcome home.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adeventure!!! I'm surprised you didn't clutch eachother weeping (I know I would have). I love Katie's reaction. (Background music was a little loud or I'm going deaf in my old age, so it was hard to hear all of the dialogue, but the smiles speak volumes!!!!) ---Alana
ReplyDeleteVery cool trip and when you get time (time just isn't as easy to come by with a baby) I'd love to see pics of the sites:)
